Elementary + High School Programs
Invite Us to Your School
Before the age of sixteen, very few teenagers know much about money. They don’t save, not even from birthdays, holidays, or gifts. Many of them barely socialize anymore, caught up in video games and social media. They grow up disconnected from the realities of everyday life, unaware of what earning, spending, or saving actually means.

By the time they reach seventeen or eighteen, about one in four will drop out of high school in Quebec. It’s often only at that moment that they realize how hard money is to come by and how unprepared they are to manage it.

That’s why both parents and schools share a crucial responsibility. Parents must encourage their children to stay in school, step away from their screens, and actively engage in building their future. Schools, for their part, must teach personal finance, not as an optional subject, but as an essential life skill.

From elementary grades through the end of high school, students should learn the basics of budgeting, saving, and financial planning. They need to become the main actors in their own financial story, empowered to make decisions, plan ahead, and build autonomy.

If we teach them early and guide them consistently, they’ll grow into young adults who take responsibility for their future without blaming their parents or the system. Because financial independence doesn’t just happen; it’s taught, practiced, and earned.

In some schools, our founder, Bridge Hennessey focuses on the foundations of financial literacy, such as budgeting, needs versus wants, and building an emergency fund. In others, she steps in to deepen the conversation by exploring basic investment vehicles and the importance of starting early, even with small amounts.
Both Bridge Hennessey and Montreal Investing invite schools to participate in the Canada Challenge, an initiative that encourages students to set savings goals, track their progress, and celebrate milestones throughout the year. By working with public school boards in Montreal as well as private institutions, these programs aim to cultivate a new generation of students who are more confident, informed, and proactive about their financial future.

Montreal Investing extends this mission by introducing older students to simple, practical investing concepts that they can grasp and apply as they grow.
Using clear language and concrete scenarios, Together, we demystify topics such as compound growth, diversification, and the role of long term investing in building financial security.
